Fantasy sports is getting very popular, but if your someone that doesn’t know how to play fantasy baseball or how to get started I’m here to help.  The first thing you need to do is ask your friends if they want to participate in a fantasy baseball league.  If you friends ask you what is fantasy baseball, tell them its a game where you draft an imaginary team, and you will get their stats.  Example if Alex Rodriguez hits a HR you will also get credit for the Home Run. The player with the most total points wins!

Also let them know the league scoring. Example 5X5 or 6X6.  Tell them that a 5X5 League the categories are Home Runs, Runs Batted In (Rbi), Runs, Stolen Bases(sb) and Average. The Pitching categories are Wins, Strikeouts, Saves, Earned Run Average (ERA), and Whip (Walks hits inn pitched). For a 6X6 league the categories are Home Runs, Hits, On Base Percentage (Obp), Runs, Runs Batted In (Rbi), and Stolen Bases(Sb).

The pitching catorgies are Wins, Loses, Era, Whip, Ks, and Saves.  Once you get around 10 of your buddies your good to go.  I would suggest using www.cbssportsline.com or Yahoo.com to create your leauge. Don’t get overwelmed if you go to sign up and it asks you what type of league Head to Head or Rotisserie, I talk about that more at www.fantasybaseballinsidersguide.com
